Table notes
- One row = one named city location. When Wikipedia grouped several sites in the same city, the project splits them into separate location rows where possible.
- Pieces means the number of Berlin Wall pieces listed for a location. Wikipedia uses mixed terms such as segments, sections, pieces, and fragments, so not every counted item should be assumed to be a full concrete wall panel.
- Piece count is conservative and source-derived. If Wikipedia gives a clear number for a location, that number is used. If it only says a piece or segment exists, this project records a count of 1.
- Count basis explains the method: explicit_location_count means the source supports that location-level number; allocated_from_grouped_entry means a grouped city entry had to be split across named sites; default_1_or_unspecified means the source mentions a wall piece but does not clearly state a larger count.
- Status distinguishes current, former, temporary, or unclear listings when Wikipedia indicates that a piece moved or was exhibited only temporarily.
- Completeness. Wikipedia describes the list as dynamic and potentially incomplete. This project is a working public-history map, not an official registry.
